Phone numbers

We use your phone number to send one-time login codes and identify your account. It is not displayed publicly. Supabase and Bird process it to provide authentication and SMS delivery.

Messages

We send text messages only when you request a login code. Message and data rates may apply.

Game data

We store your guesses and account settings so the game can show your history, votes, friends, and profile. Moderated guesses and aggregate vote and play counts appear without account identity on the public puzzle leaderboard after a viewer submits that puzzle. Account-linked puzzle history is available only to you and accepted friends who have also submitted that puzzle. After you generate a shared-profile link, anyone with it can see your display name, but only accepted friends can see moderated historical answers.

Advertising and cookies

We use Google AdSense to display ads on Today and History. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to personalize ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet. Google and its partners may also use web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to measure performance and limit repeated ads. Other third-party advertising vendors and networks may also serve ads and use cookies on this site. Your choice

You can play and browse History without logging in. Logging in is required for account, voting, and friend features. Where required, Google’s consent message lets you manage advertising choices before ads are served.
